The Secret Ingredients

DentaTabs contain Malic Acid, a carboxylic acid that is naturally present in many common fruits and Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC), an anti-microbial agent commonly used in mouthwash. Working together, these patented ingredients have been shown to reduce the formation of dental plaque and calculus as well as to improve pet breath, helping to keep your pet’s mouth clean and healthy.

Clinically Proven

This patented, clinically tested combination of Malic Acid and CPC has been shown to help prevent tartar and improve pet breath.  Independent research conducted at Indiana University School of Dentistry showed that Malic Acid and CPC, as present in DentaTabs, helped prevent tartar by as much as 50%.

An additional test conducted by the Department of Oral Microbiology at the Indiana University School of Dentistry was performed to determine the effect of DentaTabs on representative oral microbes from dogs and cats.  The results indicated that DentaTabs significantly inhibited the growth of all microbes tested.  The oral bacteria included Streptococcus mutans, Actinomyces Viscosus, Porphyromonas gingivalis and Porphyromonas asaccharolyticus which are commonly found in dogs and cats and are known to contribute to dental plaque and bad breath.

Their breath is much fresher, too soon if it will get rid of the tartar.
Hope so. Have 8 dogs on it

So far so good. She’s only been on it a few weeks, but it seems to be working.

I have previously had the Tartar Shield Tablets and was a bit confused I guess at getting the powder- but no problem, the little scoop it comes with is quite nifty: easy enough to measure out. It may be a bit more difficult when the powder level in the bottle drops but it will be some time before that happens. A larger diameter bottle with a shorter height would be better to get all the powder out eventually – I can get an old fashioned pharmacy ointment jar from our local pharmacy when that happens. Well, the real reason for getting it is to get the teeth tarter in my 3 pets mouths under control- at $8-900 for a vet cleaning it is a lot easier on the budget!! My puppies did not like the taste on the powder at first so I dropped the concentration by half and then gradually increased it & now they are used to the full recommended strength. I have a large water bottle (old fruit juice plastic bottle) into which I shake to mix the powder- it foams a bit & then goes clear. And the teeth are looking better: our oldest one only started on the treatment late in life and I still get a recommendation for her teeth to be cleaned but our other two newer dogs are ok and do not need teeth cleaning. So….. it works! Guess I am so glad I got 2 bottles the last time I ordered! – And as a treat I got them the chew biscuits as well!

Tartar shield was recommended by vet last year. It seems to be working- my dog got a good dental report this year!

excellent have been using them on my first lab for many years. His teeth still good at almost 12. My 3 younger labs get them every morning after they are fed. They all have really good teeth. I know how important it is to keep there teeth and gums healthy. It affects there overall health. Taking good care of my dogs is very important to me as are they. I want them with me for as long as the good Lord sees them to be here. Tarter Shield really helps.

I liked it better when it was a tablet. The three bottles of powder I have used so far were pretty much hardened when I opened them but a butter knife will break it apart pretty easily and then it seems to be good as new. I like the longer handled scoop. One bottle had a short handled scoop in it and that made it difficult when the level got below halfway.

Great products and fast shipping. Great customer service and has helped my dogs teeth stay clean and fresh after having to have some teeth removed. I will continue to shop here.
