In the spirit of Thanksgiving and reflecting on what we are grateful for, here are some of the many reasons to be thankful for our beloved pets.
They give us unconditional love. Our pets accept us for who we are, and they are always there to give us love and affection.
They help us stay active. Since our pets need regular play time, socialization, and walks, we always have a reason to engage in physical activity.
They help boost our health. The Centers for Disease Control states some of the health benefits of pet ownership include lower blood pressure, decreased cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and decreased feelings of loneliness. Pet ownership also allows for increased opportunities for socialization with others.
They help teach us responsibility. Caring for our pets’ basic needs, training, grooming and overall well-being helps us be accountable.
They make us laugh. Every dog and cat has their own unique, funny behaviors or habits which is why there are countless hilarious viral videos of pets online.
Our pets bring so much joy, love, and fun to our lives and now it the perfect time to take a moment to give your pets some extra love and attention to show them how thankful you are to have them in your life.
