Have you noticed the square VOHC logo on our Soft Rawhide Chews? That logo is the Veterinary Oral Health Council’s (VOHC) Seal of Acceptance and it indicates that our chews have met the VOHC’s high standards of quality and effectiveness. The VOHC Council includes nine veterinary dentists and dental scientists with experience of scientific protocols and study design, and a non-voting Director. The President and Board of Directors of the American Veterinary Dental College supervises the policies and procedures of the Council and appoints the Council members. The VOHC created the seal to help consumers recognize effective products in a busy and potentially confusing market. After all, many products claim to have amazing results, but how can consumers know which claims are true?
Products that receive the VOHC Seal of Acceptance must undergo two clinical trials that verify their product significantly reduces plaque and tartar buildup. Today the seal is recognized as the ultimate standard in veterinary oral health and is only awarded to a small group of select products.
